A lot of us these days grab any job opportunity that befall them. It's a way to make a little extra money to buy a few things that we want. As we become adults, we no longer have someone else to depend on for our needs aside from ourselves. We are probably still living with our parents.
Of course, we all dream of a job that pays much more than any other jobs so we can easily spend on anything we need. As soon as you find your ideal job, you immediately submit your resume and hope that you can get an interview. Thus, how would you leave a good impression to your employer upon interview.
The first and most obvious thing in an interview is what you wear. Most jobs dictate that you wear a suit and tie when you're being interviewed. There are other jobs, such as construction jobs, where you want to dress neatly and not necessarily wear a suit.
Always make sure that when you wear a suit, it does not fit too much or too loose. Make sure you wear a complementary tie. As they say "first impressions last" which is most likely the same with a job interview. You should be able to showcase your best in this process.
You should also have an idea about company's demographics when you're trying to look good in an interview. Do your research. Just as everything else, you will need to know as much as you can before a company before getting in. What are the goals of the company? Know the brand. What do they produce? Likewise, you should also be aware of any logos or slogans that they have. Who was the owner/chief executive/other important people in the company?
Doing this means you are comfortable with the people in the organization they're about to ask you questions. You can include some of the information that you learned in the answers to some of the questions they may ask.
Next, you want to be aware of the kind of questions they will be asking. Most interviewers will ask you why you want to work for them. Make sure you have a ready answer that will include a little bit of information about the company you learned. You should also prepare yourself for more personal questions such as your weaknesses. They ask you this question to get your reaction. Thus, you should always be relaxed and be prepared for it. You should also practice the way you would say your answers. Simply think of the deficiencies of others when asked what are your weaknesses so as to draw the interviewers attention away from you personally.
They might ask you about your job experience. Should you have no other work experience yet, you can just specify your key skills and expertise and relate how it can help in your job. Be sure not to speak of false information. Always be honest and try not to speak until spoken to.
As soon as the interview finishes, be sure to thank your interviewer for his or her time. Regardless of what happens, it is always good to thank the person who is interviewing you for the position. The simple gratitude will leave a good impression towards work and will let them give you better chances in getting a work.
